Since 1995, The Public Education Foundation has invested both human and financial resources in our South Bend Schools awarding nearly half a million dollars for:
Grants to Teachers:
$110,000 in 135 grants for curriculum enrichment projects tied to the Indiana Standards.
Grants to Individual Schools:
Nearly $110,000 for school-wide projects that affect all students, such as individual classroom libraries at Harrison Primary Center.
Early intervention programs:
$100,000 to Hay Primary School for remediation of 148 non-reading students and staff development; $100,000 to the Lafayette Early Childhood Center to provide appropriate early childhood programming for students most in need of services.
School administrative projects:
Nearly $28,000 for strategic planning training, participation in the Indiana Principal's Leadership Academy and other administrative projects.
